November already. Where does the time go?

It is said that time appears to pass quicker when you're older due to a combination of fewer original experiences and becoming more familiar with your surroundings. There is less in life to generate deep, meaningful memories so the days and weeks blur into one.

We can reduce this impact by building more originality into our lives, go to new places, learn new things. Yet, for the past 18 months, we have been precluded from doing this. We have had to hunker down, play it safe, take less risks. Even now, when things are supposed to be getting back to normal, we must be cautious as autumn and winter bring their own complications.

Our daily decisions are based on the perceived notions of how responsible other people are when we normally wouldn't give this a second thought. Are they wearing masks? Are they being sensible? Are they maintaining a reasonable distance or just cramming into places as though nothing has happened?

So, we fill our days as best we can knowing that it's not enough, yearning for more, for different, for new. And that only serves to exacerbate the issue.
