Today is the fourth anniversary of switching to my own custom CMS. It doesn't seem possible that I've been using it for that long.

Each year I've written about the major changes; these last 12 months have had the least. I started strong with improved support for blogging with a stylus on my phone or tablet but the feature has gone largely unused.

Due to mental health issues the blog itself was relatively quiet in 2024 and this reflected on the time I spent with it aside from posting. There were some minor tweaks to RSS related things and I dropped the live feed while the list of feeds in /reader officially became a blogroll.

I decided to remove the Bluesky integration from the blog and keep things separate. Beyond that, anything else has just been bug fixes.

It may have been a slow year but the site continues to provide what I need and has become pretty mature. Yes, I could save myself a lot of aggravation if I opted for a more traditional blogging platform but I would be frustrated with it not working exactly how I want.

Still, I'm very happy with what I've got and now wouldn't have it any other way.
