For someone who said I was going to get back to blogging regularly, things haven't been going according to plan so far in 2025. One post in three weeks just doesn't cut it.
In my usual manner, I've taken to tweaking code in the hope that mucking about with the site will build some enthusiasm to use it.
Still, it's been quite productive. I think I've managed to remove the last of the little niggles that still cropped up from time to time.
Our web host recently changed from MySQL to MariaDB and, while it's meant as a drop-in replacement that's (mostly) compatible, there are a few differences that caused the occasional error to be logged. The most common was due to its stricter data typing.
I like that it's still satisfying to tweak things and fix errors after four years with the system.
A few changes have also been made to On This Day, the journal and /reader so I've been casting the net far and wide.
One post does not a blogging revival make, but you have to start somewhere - even if it's very meta.
