It's The Web You Want day again. My annual reminder to myself to "do the web" my way rather than in accordance to anyone else's goals.
This is, as always, in response to Brent Simmon's post 'You Choose'.
While I haven't been working on the site or blogging much this year, the idea still holds true.

Very little, whether on the internet or off, is a forgone conclusion. I really hate it when people suggest it is.
I also tend to be allergic to doing things “the way everyone else does”, even if that’s sensible or effective.
That’s why I have an email-only newsletter (no archive like everyone recommends) and am trying a new, more sane social network, Foto, that “probably won’t last”. 😆
I’m doing those things because it’s the internet experience I want.
Good on you, Chris. I hope it works out for you.
Thanks, Colin. I’m happy with how the newsletter’s going. It’s the social network that remains to be seen. But so far it’s a good experience. I didn’t get on, have a freak out, and immediately leave like I’ve done with many others in recent years. 😆
