My Skagen Falster 3 watch has been dying a slow, painful death. Refusing to turn on without holding all three buttons for 30 seconds; grinding to a virtual halt; the battery lasting half a day at most.

The writing has been on the wall for a while.

Being an older 5th gen device it also doesn't support Wear OS 3 so can't be updated.

Rather than opt for a new 6th gen Wear OS device I have been thinking about a more proprietary system. So, for my birthday today I got an Amazfit GTR 2.

Amazfit GTR 2

With up to 14 days battery life it's far more flexible than having to charge the Skagen every day which means I can monitor sleep without having to worry about it dying or forgetting to put it on charge in the morning.

Okay, so I can't install a bunch of apps on it but I never really did with the Skagen. The Amazfit looks to do everything I need out of the box.

Now I just have to decide which watch face I want to use 😆

Beautiful looking watch, Colin! I thought you'd gone analog for a sec!

I like the face in the picture above.
