A little while ago, I can't remember when, I changed the homepage to show a single, full post rather than three extracts. It's just another approach, another way to present things. I think I like it.

Since moving the blog to /blog I've kept making changes to how the home page looks and works – I'm never sure what it should look like but enjoy playing around with it. I'm sure I'll eventually land on exactly how it is supposed to be.

@colinwalker That's definitely an interesting choice. I like it. I'm cc-ing @Mtt since we were talking about homepage post view choices the other day. I wonder if we can convert existing mb themes to this format

There are obviously certain blogging conventions but, even when the blog was the landing page, I decided to move away from them long ago. These days a blog is whatever you want it to be and can look however you want. I often get too bogged down with trying to do something different rather them just getting on with the most important bit: the writing.

@colinwalker Agree. Best focus on the writing. I'm leaving all the learning to do that tinkering for when I retire 🙂 My ideal blog landing page is a very brief intro (About me) and the rest half the page with today's blog post(s). And the rest half with either a photo gallery of the latest pics, movies seen, bookmarks, etc.

@pratik @colinwalker Yeah, that would be doable in a number of ways. Could be a static home page that had a “latest post” widget of sorts. Or could be a traditional paginated blog that just shows 1 post per page. And almost anything in between.
