@colinwalker In the Midwest here in America, that's called an ice storm, When I was a kid, those were the best days of winter as they would usually mean a school holiday as the weight of the ice would bring down some trees, knocking out some power.

It was only water in this instance, no cold enough for ice. It's incredibly rare to get something like an ice storm around here.

@colinwalker lovely capture. A galaxy hanging on the branches of a tree!

Not too bad for 10x zoom, cropped and through a grubby window 😄 I had to tweak the contrast to make the 'stars' stand out more.

It's hard to accept that we are in March already. Yes, February is a short month but it barely seemed to begin before it was done, put aside for another year.

"My life partakes of infinity.... I go forth to make new demands on life. I wish to begin this summer well; to do something in it worthy of it and of me.... May I dare as I have never done! May I persevere as I have never done! May I purify myself anew as with fire and water, soul and body! May my melody not be wanting to the season!" – David Henry Thoreau

With the start of meteorological spring, may my melody indeed not be wanting to the season.

I had a moment (night) of panic. In order to connect the watch to the new phone it has to be reset and set up from scratch. All seemed to be going okay so I left it on the charger while a number of apps installed.

When I went to put the watch back on at bedtime it was dead and wouldn't turn on, on the charger or not. It looked like it had completely given up. I left it on the charger overnight just in case.

Things didn't look any better this morning until I found a thread on Reddit advising to hold all three buttons in for about 15 seconds – it might take three goes. First go: a small vibration but nothing else. Second try: another small vibration then nothing. Third attempt: again the small vibration then ... life!

The relief was palpable.

@colinwalker This is a really impressive shot! I love how you can see the colour and vibrancy of Betelgeuse and Rigel.

Yeah, not bad at all for a phone. I'm going to look at tripods to see if I can get something small and portable that will hold it.
