Our first snowfall of the winter in the wake of Storm Eunice. I'm not sure I've ever seen such large flakes. It's a shame that the ground is wet as I don't think it will be able to settle.

After getting Chrome OS Flex to actually work on the MacBook Air I took the plunge and did an install rather than just running it off the USB stick. The MBA is too old so I can't spin up a Linux Virtual machine (because of potential security issues) so I am settling for the online file manager from my web host, it's not brilliant but it works and I can download and upload files. I am looking into using SSH however as you can add an extension for use in the Files app but am having issues getting connected.

I've opted for Caret as my editor for the time being which is modelled on Sublime Text and runs completely offline.

I have set the Caps Lock key as Search so that I can open search directly from the keyboard or use Shift + Caps lock to fully open the Launcher.

Today is going to be the first this year where I've not done any exercise, running or walking. I was fine during my usual Friday run yesterday but I woke this morning with a stiff and sore left thigh. I don't know what I've done but I'm certainly not going to be hitting the treadmill.

Thanks to Jan-Lukas for a bit of follow-up advice I now have Linux installed and working within Chrome OS Flex. Filezilla is the usual FTP client of choice but I was having some graphical issues with it so installed gFTP instead.

Within the Files app you can easily make Chrome OS folders available within Linux apps:

Share With Linux

although I could install an IDE under Linux and avoid the need.
