I wrote yesterday morning (just not on the blog):

"... blogs are the notes and ideas which get us there, the working out. They are where we experiment and are free to make mistakes and changes."

Today I awoke to a post from Austin Kleon – "Blogging as a forgiving medium" in which he declares "blogging feels to me like a world of endless drafting, endless revisioning."

Blogs are our personal playgrounds on the web, the places we go to think out loud and then build on those thoughts. Unlike with a manuscript, we are not necessarily making drafts of or revisions to the same items, rather our thoughts. Of course, we can always go back and make edits to posts but it is more a case of making edits to our ideas over time.

As Kleon says "most importantly, I want to be able to be wrong. I want to change my mind! I want to evolve." What better place to be able to do that than a blog?

It's cold this morning. We had a clear sky overnight meaning a heavy frost. Looking out of the window while I sit at my desk I can see nothing but blue sky yet am watching a snow flurry. I'm obviously at the wrong angle to see any cloud directly above so it makes for a surreal experience.
