It's hot and sticky, the weather on my phone says humidity is 93%. I can't sleep as I can't settle and get comfortable – not good when I've got to be up around 5:30 ready for the early shift followed by the drive down south for another stint in the office.

My son-in-law was pinged by the NHS Covid app last night so now has to isolate for the week. It's likely that it is because of a contact at work as none of the rest of us have been alerted. As a precaution, I've taken a lateral flow test this morning and it is negative. Let's hope it stays that way.

@colinwalker I was in similar position last night until 9:30pm when it finally cooled down enough outside that I could open the windows again, and left them ajar all night until 7am. I had the fan running most of yesterday, and again this morning, but it's just pushing warm air around for the most part. I do not handle heatwaves well.
Even with the windows open overnight it was still awful.
