So, it looks pretty certain that I will be re-subbing to World of Warcraft; not for the retail game (that still bores me) but for WoW Forever — the reimagined version of Classic.

I've played Classic itself and got bored // frustrated, partly because of the gameplay but also because it's stuff I've done countless times before.

With new zones, new quests, new talent trees, and new graphics, I'm hoping that Forever can fulfill its promise of a fresh start.

Until the announcement over the weekend, I just wasn't planning // expecting to re-sub any time soon ¹ but I'm excited again for this new approach.

That, after level 60, character progression is going to be horizontal is a refreshing change; you're not making numbers go up ad infinitum.

Yes, the game will grow and expand over time but, hopefully, in a much more considered way that I'm definitely looking forward to.
