Dave Winer points out that, along with the blog server at Harvard being decommissioned, his piece "What makes a weblog a weblog? from 2003 will likely disappear.
While I would argue that blogging has moved on, and that this is no longer entirely true, this is a piece of history and needs to be preserved elsewhere than just on the Internet Archive.

@colinwalker That's great. I wish they did (do they(?) that here too. I know too many that their lives have taken a bad turn early in life.
It's just plain wrong that kids can't get the right support or be sent off to a 'special school'.
@odd @colinwalker We also need petitions to get them to hire competent middle managers, and invest in improving the system as much as possible to remove middle managers.
Also, the petitions for supporting teachers to the hilt – I can guarantee you that the best teachers aren't as interested in our schools as they ought to be, and it's for their own good.
Finally, the petitions to run out the miserable, talentless, selfish, lazy, and all-round awful people – yes, there are plenty of horrific teachers gainfully employed – who are currently in charge of and constantly rewarded in our schools.
I can't speak for Norway but in this country the school system is a shambolic shadow of what it ought to be.
Well said! 👍
@SimonWoods @colinwalker I don't know what it's like here now, but it used to be pretty awful. Many people in the school system that were more or less like prison guards from the Stanford Prison Experiment.
