Either way, it's about time.
The past few months have been fun with building PHP-MST and the rssCloud server. I need to get back to spending more time with PHP-MST. Andy Sylvester and I have been enjoying our work on our 'My Status Tool' instances and it will be good to get some other people on board. I see 'MST' as suitable for small groups to send ad hoc, semi-ephemeral messages and, with RSS being the delivery technology, it's pretty simple. The last piece of the puzzle is enclosure support so that a group can send podcast-style messages to each other.
I've been getting a bit frustrated with the blog lately, using the excuse that I need it to look different to stimulate creativity, but that's all it is, an excuse. So, I've made a few visual tweaks and replaced a number of images with SVG icons from Bootstrap. Thanks to Kevin for pointing me in that direction.
On that subject, I did a test install of hy(de)blog 1 and I'm really impressed with where he's taken it, especially the new settings page. Part of the reason for making hyblog was to see if I could take the lessons learned there and bring them back to (b)log-In. I'm not so sure that's happened but I've definitely been inspired visually by Kevin's work.
Over the next few weeks I want to get back to writing properly again. Shorter (or micro) posts have their place and can help move things along but they don't really achieve too much. I want to go deeper than that so have to re-train myself.
We'll see where that goes.
