One week later...

This is an RSS Club only post! Please do not share.

I've been back on the blog for a week now and it feels good, like slipping on an old, comfy pair of slippers. Saying that, my slippers are falling apart and I could do with some new ones.

I suppose what the analogy is really saying is that I don't want to go back to exactly how things were before June. Things needed to change.

(It's true about my old slippers though.)

It's been easy to fall back into coding updates and new features – it's where I feel safe and comfortable – posting about them is in lieu of anything else to write about. But it's early days. Rome wasn't built in a day and any new approach to the blog will take a lot more than a week.

I've deliberately not posted every day and won't do in future, I don't want to put that pressure on myself at the moment. Also, now that the focus has been removed from 'Today' and days without posts are ignored, it goes against the new ethos of the blog.

Once my initial medication period is over and a treatment plan can be agreed I imagine I'll have considerably more to write about as I explore the way forward. I'm still not sure what effect the pills are having – maybe they are and it's gradual so I don't notice from day to day. I'll probably look back in a few weeks and it will be more evident.

My next appointment is on the 8th so we'll see where we go from there.

There are some possible life changes in the pipeline but I can't really talk about that yet. Hopefully, I'll have more to say in the coming weeks.

For now, I'll take each day as it comes as I work out where this is all going.
