After almost 15 months of this adventure I've decided to call it quits. I've learnt so much but can no longer justify the overhead of developing and maintaining a custom built CMS so will be switching back to WordPress.

It's a poor fill but I still have all the old theme files and plugins so the transition won't be too painful.

The first quarter of the year has passed, way too quickly, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. So far in 2022, through a combination of eating a bit healthier and exercise, I have lost a stone – 6.35kg. A good start but there's still a way to go.

My wife says she can tell I've lost weight as some of my clothes are starting to hang a little. I look forward to being able to start buying a size down. I just wish belly fat wasn't so hard to shift.

With the exception of the week after Harry was born (for obvious reasons) I have kept up with my goal of running three days a week. The rest of the time I get my exercise by taking Jac for walks, hoping to close the rings on my watch but not beating myself up if I don't always manage to complete one of them.

In the second quarter I aim to consolidate what I've achieved, building my fitness and stamina by extending the length, and increasing the pace, of my runs.

April Fool

I have absolutely no intention of ditching (b)log-In and returning to WordPress. As much as my custom theme made life in WordPress easier to work with, more pleasant and tolerable than it otherwise was, I have no desire to return.
