I'm finally up to date on the Aliens franchise having watched Alien Covenant last night. It's certainly better than Prometheus but there were still issues. It sets things up nicely for yet another film.
The best thing about it was definitely Michael Fassbender as David & Walter, and seeing him occupy both characters. David has that air of Roy Batty from Blade Runner about him, even quoting one of Batty's lines. I suppose the common thread of replicants/synthetics as, effectively, slaves is behind that.
It was such a busy day at work (more people in the office than expected) that it didn't register until late in the day that it is September. 2021 is disappearing fast and I'm not quite sure where it has all gone. Even though things have opened up a lot more, I think there is still degree of covid time dilation occurring – we're not completely back to pre-pandemic normality.
