Now that I have a couple of new synth stands 1 I need to reorganise everything. Again.
It all feels a bit cramped and claustrophobic. Also, I need to significantly improve the power management. I've seen some reasonably priced, rack mounted power conditioners which I will consider before thinking about anything else.
The only thing missing from the studio, if that's the right word, is a polysynth. Maybe something like the Pro 800.
I've got enough gear, I just need to get on and use it, really learn the new machines like I did with the LM Drum.
They say you can't buy your way out of a creative rut. That's mostly true, but the LM Drum was the exception that proves the rule. Using solely that drum machine for the 'acid is so passé' album was a game changer.
I've got enough monosynths, more than I know what to do with, but a nice sounding poly would have a similar effect on me as the LM Drum.
Still, that's all for another day. I need a setup I'm comfortable with (maybe introducing another table) before I can think about adding anything extra.
