Three more uploads to the randomelements YouTube channel continuing the theme of unreleased material.

These pieces were all from July 2024 when I was ill and isolating in our spare room which, as luck would have it, doubles as "the studio".

The title of the first was obviously influenced by the situation. A slower, minimal affair brought alive by plenty of delays.

With the second, I wanted to do something a little different, more foreboding, and this was the result.

The third is a more aggressive acid track with heavy, layered kicks, and a dash of distortion on the acid line. The title comes from self doubt and being unhappy with what I was making, needing to get that monkey off my back.

The lyrics are:

Monkey on my back,
Always on the attack.

For some reason, I considered darkness and monkey as too short to release, but never went back to rework them. I think the versions just got fixed in my head.

Maybe I'll put out an "ideas, unfinished, unreleased" compilation at some point.
