I know I said hyblog was done but I'm thinking about making a few improvements:

  • some general code tweaks based on things done for (b)log-In
  • replacing images with inline SVGs
  • sending webmentions
  • a webmention endpoint and related changes to comments

The CSS could still use some more tidying up but that's the least of my worries right now.

Since having to reinstall Mac OS on the MBP I'm having a weird issue with Audio apps (Reason, Audacity, and I've even installed Garage Band just to be sure.)

When I connect my mixer via USB and set it as the input device, the Sound applet in System Preferences shows it is receiving audio but this will not pass through to any apps.

It looks like a problem with them no requesting access to the microphone. I've tried using tccutil To reset permissions on the microphone and to force add them. I've even dual booted with a fresh instance of Monterey and deleted tcc.db (the database file that holds the permissions.) Reason still doesn't request permission to the microphone and nothing is listed against it in Security & Privacy.

I found someone with a similar problem who launched the app they were using via Terminal and, as they found, this works. Terminal requests access to the microphone and Reason works as normal.

Other suggestions include resetting the NVRAM and disabling/re-enabling SIP or that it could be an account issue – I doubt it as these are two brand new installs with fresh accounts.

I'll keep digging but at least I can use the Terminal workaround for the time being.
