Back in 2021, Anton submitted a PR for JSON Feed support to the RSS/Atom parser I use in /reader.
When launching /reader in April last year I mentioned that I might add JSON Feed support in future. Well, the future is now the present and I spent some time last night, and before work this morning, making that happen.
Adding the code to parse JSON Feeds was, obviously, just the start – I had to add new sections to actually process those feeds and get the items in the database.
It's been almost 4 months since I returned to the blog (after the 5 month break) with the new approach of a home page. I keep tweaking things but find myself wanting to change them up again, do something radically different or unusual.
The problem is I don't know what.
The daily, chronological approach is already a deviation from the more traditional reverse-chron paradigm yet I keep feeling it's not enough. It's just another manifestation of "I'll be able to do X when Y" and I just need to stop making excuses.
