Reading all the Apple pundits since this year's WWDC, it feels like I'm the only person who likes the new Safari tab configuration in MacOS Monterey. I prefer having the tabs and address bar condensed into the same row and don't find it an issue when the address bar moves to the currently open tab.
Being a long-time user of Chromium-based browsers on Android I also like that the browser chrome adopts the page theme as defined by the theme-color meta tag. Not having support for this in other browsers has actually been an annoyance. Having Safari "catch up" in this regard is appreciated.
It's good that Apple is trying something new, both on MacOS and iOS, betas are there for feedback after all. That they have provided options to customise the layout to your liking rather than caving to public outcry is most welcome – it would have been so easy to abandon the changes completely.
That's the second time I posted that. I inadvertently introduced a posting bug with yesterday's changes but didn't realise until trying to submit the first post of the day.
While I'm largely platform agnostic, and most apps are available regardless of your choice of device, there are always a few considerations to be had when thinking about a platform switch. If I do go from Android to iOS this time around, there's only one app I'll need to find a replacement for – Acode.
DraftCode could be an option but I don't like the way support for later versions of PHP is via in-app purchase.
If anyone has any thoughts on, or preferences for, an iPhone IDE (with full HTML / JavaScript / PHP support and can connect via FTP) I'd appreciate it.
Took Jac to the vet as he has been coughing and not eating or drinking. Turns out he has an upper respiratory tract infection – it comes under the kennel cough umbrella – so has some antibiotics that'll hopefully sort him out. Poor little guy.
