I'm making a concerted effort to use the Mac more when at home rather than the phone. As I don't post/like posting via the WordPress admin UI, this means I either have to move items to Drafts before posting or look at building some kind of simplified web interface for the REST API (like a micropub client) to emulate my Post action in Drafts.

One option would be to go all in on the Indieweb, install the micropub and Indieauth plugins, and use something like Quill but I like the way I've got things set up and don't see the point in creating multiple entry points and workflows.

So, I think my project for this week (while I've got some time off work) will be to build a little self-hosted form in PHP that allows me to post straight from the mac.

WordPress uses xmlrpc, and there's an xmlrpc command in AppleScript, I think it'd be easy to glue up "post this BBEdit/whatever document to WordPress".

I remember you saying about that before. @mdhughes interesting- maybe some combination of the two 🤔 I’ve got my PHP form working via the REST API but I may look into AppleScript as an option. Thanks guys.

Thanks Khürt but I want to do it without any additional apps. I'm happy with what I've put together for now and will post properly about it tomorrow.
