Happy Friday!

Recently, I happened to dive down a rabbit hole about keyboards and discovered that the '§' symbol is called the section sign. I've obviously seen it in various places (especially in relation to law statutes in a previous life) but never used it.

For some completely irrational reason I'm now enamoured by it and want to use it.

There are a number of places where I use <hr> tags and have previously been replacing the line with three centred asterisks. Not any more! I now use, you guessed it, a section sign – much more elegant.

It's the little things.

"... not so long ago I made the mistake of changing my blog to the latest coolest framework and it made the build process better but the actual blogging much more painful. It was slow! It got in the way! And I felt that distance between keyboard and URL increase with each new update to the framework."

I like how Robin describes this: the distance between keyboard and URL. This is exactly why I switched to doing everything inline, typing directly onto the site and removing the layer of abstraction that normally exists. 1

This fits perfectly with me saying I connect more with the words by tapping directly on the screen than when using a keyboard. I personally need to feel that connection.

  1. although it's now not quite as inline as it used to be – I may revert this at some point
