It's two years since the introduction of first UK Covid lockdown and tomorrow marks two years since I started working from home.
A lot has happened in those two short years, both globally and personally, yet I'm still trying to rationalise that time span in my own head. With the wonders of modern medicine and science it's almost unfathomable that a global pandemic would or could have such an impact on our existence.
We are now firmly in the 'living with Covid' phase and the talk is all about a return to normality but, as I've said before, we shouldn't strive for the old normal – it wasn't that great. To steal a line from politicians, we should build back better, personally and societally. We should be aiming to improve things for so many and not just returning to the way things were.
The impact of the pandemic has shown just how inequitous life can be (we already knew that but Covid has hammered the point home.) The question is how can we move forward and build that better future?
