I've started watching The Wheel of Time on Prime Video and am quite enjoying it so far – I'm only 1½ episodes in. It's been 30 years since I started reading the books (but never finished the series) so I can't remember much beyond the main character's names.

I've seen some reports that compare it very unfavourably with Game of Thrones, that it tries too hard hard to be like it, but having never seen GoT I can't comment and will view it on its own merits.

@colinwalker I haven't watched it so far (am reading the books right now) but one complaint I heard was that it is many ways rather (annoyingly) different from the books. But I will watch it anyway soon.

I think with such a wealth of source material (14 books and a prequel) it would be a bit hard to make them the same. I can't remember the books so it doesn't really worry me too much.

@colinwalker Sure. I will watch it myself as well. I understand that the first season is roughly the first three (?) books.

Ah thanks, I wasn't sure about that.

@colinwalker I'm not sure if it's right. But somehow seems reasonable.

@colinwalker I enjoyed it too, and didn't mind the changestoo much. From what I understand there will be more Moiraine and Lan in season two, given the profile of the actors, so there'll be more scenes “inspired by” the books...

Absolutely loving The Book of Boba Fett thus far, it's frustrating to have to wait for each Wednesday to roll round for the next episode. Then again, in these times of streaming everything and instant gratification, it's good to have to wait – it makes you appreciate things more.

@colinwalker Good things come to those who wait! I agree though, I like it when I have to wait honestly.
