And just like that, it's December. How is that possible?
Today marks two months since starting my new role – those two months have just disappeared. I'm starting to feel my way in the role a bit more but it's still so different from what I've done before that it's taking time to really get to grips with it. Not having an explicit job description or true direction on starting likely haven't helped.
Probably the one thing I notice most is that, away from the support front lines, everyone speaks 'corporate' – that's just never something I've done and it makes things a little difficult at times. Terminology, acronyms, jargon, superfluous verbiage seemingly for the sake of it; it can be hard to focus.
Has it always been a thing that Android auto-inserts date elements when you type the following?
!d = day
!m = month
!y = year
Interestingly, when typing !c it automatically deletes itself.
I'm having to type this post on a laptop just so that I can without it autocorrecting.
I've tried different keyboards with autocorrect and spelling turned off but it still happens. I wasn't aware of this before and only discovered it because my dictionary shortcut for markdown is 'md' making it impossible to type on my phone.
My wife and I just got back from having our Covid booster jabs from a nearby walk-in centre. Now that the recommended time between doses has been reduced due to Omicron, I didn't have to wait until the 10th.
