It's so sad to see the loss of life after yesterday's events in D.C. - lives that should never have been at risk. At least the transition of power can continue now that Biden's win has been confirmed.
Let's hope things can get back to some normality and stability now.
I'm trying to get outgoing webmentions working this morning so you can expect a number of test posts which may or may not disappear from the blog. I know I said that webmentions were beyond me, I think I've sorted a way to get outgoing mentions working at least using the Indieweb PHP client.
Processing incoming mentions is going to be considerably tougher.
I thought I had everything working as far as sending webmentions was concerned but then started adding in Likes and Replies. Something triggered a loop on the server using all the system resources and the only way I could stop it was by deleting the test file I was using.
So, now I'm not sure if I've broken something fundamental or it's just something with those particular aspects. Ah, the joys of building your own systems.
"What advice would I give a friend?" Would I tell my friend he's worthless, unloveable, and a loser? Would I tell him a simple mistake was the worst thing he's ever done? Would I grill him over his past and hold every single bad decision against him? Of course not.
