# Evergreen content. It's what many bloggers crave. Posts that keep people coming back. Passive traffic that you don't have to do anything more to receive.

I won't lie - it's nice to get, but I'm always surprised when I do and wonder how people ended up on my blog or whether they found what they were looking for; whether it's still relevant.

Perhaps it's because the social landscape hasn't really changed that much in the last 5, 6, 7 years, or that the issues surrounding it are largely the same and we're (sadly) still having the same conversations.

It seems like social networks have been around for ever and are just part of our social fabric but they are still in their relative infancy - just the tiniest of specs in the history of human communication.

The networks, and the tools we use to consume them, have emerged far quicker than our ability to evolve and cope with these new ways of communicating, both individually and as a society.

The same issues and conversations will keep going round in circles until we do.

# I know it's not actually a blogroll but I'm toying with the idea of using the Directory to dynamically build a live OPML file and advertise it for download when visiting the directory page.

Creating the file is not an issue and I already have the author names and URLs - I'll just need to grab the feed addresses from each page.

I say just like it's easy!

I'll have to load the remote page then explore the DOM and check for <link> elements with type='application/rss+xml' - hopefully the first one on each page will be the site's main feed.
