Writing a blog post. Literally!

I have just discovered that you can write in text fields, including textareas, using Gboard's handwriting recognition. How awesome is that?

I have wanted to cultivate a handwriting practice again so had asked for paper-like screen protectors for my tablet.

The intention was to write in Samsung Notes then attach images of that writing to the journal. Now, however, I can write straight into the journal and not have to worry about attaching anything.

This post was written with the stylus on my phone. It's not perfect, there have been a couple of instances where writing has triggered the 'back' gesture causing me to lose what I was doing, but it should be better with more room on the tablet.

Update I say that but the update doesn't seem to have reached my Tab yet. Looks like it requires Android 14 which will hopefully be available soon.

A friend of mine used it for a while, and it seemed to work quite well.

You’ve probably already seen this, but another bit of handwriting-related technology that looks really nice but is a bit too pricey for me to buy is this:

I've seen that before, looks like fun.

Yeah, the reMarkable stuff is out of my price range too. I've always thought they looked good though. The only reason I got the tablet was because I could cover 90% of the cost with vouchers.
