Now you can burn the candle at both ends.

Hopefully the changes to the home page are done.

It was only originally supposed to be one change but after thinking about Amit's post and 'Thought for the day' I added another.

The first change is that if a post is more than 500 characters it will only be partly shown on the home page, the rest will be behind a drop down. I felt that the home page was getting too long when there was a long post.

The second change is that I've reintroduced the 'Thought for the day' feature. Now, if I choose to write a 'thought' it will show on the homepage until midnight. It's just another fun little experiment with ephemerality.

Update 1 Er, okay, so the long post thing didn't work. Hard to test without a long post. 😊 I'll have another look.

Update 2 Fixed. Stupid mistake – I had a check in the wrong place so some javascript was looking for an element that didn't exist yet.
