The coal tits have quickly become the most trusting of our garden visitors. All other birds will fly away, at least to perch on the fence, if I emerge from the back door – the tits are happy to keep doing their thing as I walk around the garden. I can even sit on the grass just a couple of metres from the feeder and they don't seem to mind.
The larger robin is more hesitant, I don't see the smaller one very often now. It will come to the feeder while I am sat there but will eye me suspiciously and, only when certain I won't move, grab a meal worm and immediately fly off with it.
