Anyone who has followed the blog for a while will know of my almost pathological search for the perfect email client. I know it doesn't exist but that doesn't stop me from looking. 😆
I still haven't forgiven Dropbox for shuttering Mailbox.
Once again I find myself reverting to Spark, both on the Mac and the phone, from Edison Mail. The thing is, I'm not entirely sure why – maybe it's a bit of boredom creeping in, a dissatisfaction with the status quo. Both apps have become a little more refined over the past year and the issues I used to have with Spark (link rendering and display of emails in dark mode) appear to have been resolved, so I'm reasonably happy for now.
I think the very act of changing apps is a bit of a placebo, something to keep me quiet and settled for another six months.
@colinwalker I briefly tried Spark, but didn't find any compelling reason to switch to it. Unfortunately, most new email clients are just applying band aids to people's email problems. I've found that most of those can be solved by unsubscribing or changing mailing list settings, or using RSS instead.
I don't think there's anything really compelling me to use Spark, just the placebo of using something different. A change is as good as a rest...
