Today marks the 100th consecutive day of writing in the journal:
100 days of making notes and talking to myself. It may still not exactly be a replacement for morning pages but it's a good place to come to sort things out in my head.
Yes, I phone it in some days, just to keep the streak alive, but there's no harm in that – sometimes good things come from the banal. You just open the floodgates and see what flows out.
I definitely still want to use it more, to type more each day, to really let what's inside come out and have ideas flow and form of their own volition. I think I need to start treating it more like morning pages in order for this to happen – the writing equivalent of dress for the job you want.
The one advantage is that it's always with me as long as I have my phone and a connection so don't need to restrict when I write to it.
