Committing to reading just a few pages a night has worked and I'm already on page 200. The book is by the bed so I can't miss it.
Keeping track of my journalling has worked and I'm on a 54 day streak. The notification is at the top of my blog when I log in so I can't miss it.
I can do the same for writing.
I've decided to use Austin Kleon's Practice and Suck less challenge sheet to keep me motivated as well as post my progress on the blog.
I need to put it somewhere so I can't miss it.
I don't have to commit to lots of words, just enough to get the ball rolling, just enough so I can see progress and build the habit.
I've not kept up the regular reading of the physical books by my bedside, I need to try and get back into that habit, particularly before bedtime.
Just one book, not a stack – remove the distraction of choice. Put it where you can't avoid it, leave it on your pillow if you have to. Start small, just a few pages, then build.
