# Another trip to the doctor this morning saw me referred to an optician followed by another referral to the specialist unit at hospital. It can take a day or two to hear from them so I guess I'll be sitting in the dark until then.

That was actually the opticians advice: sit in the dark as much as possible, wear sunglasses if you've got them and use a warm compress over the eye if needed

They don't seem 100% sure what it is; iritis has been ruled out and the thinking is now about scleritis or another type of inflammation which will likely require a course of steroids to resolve.

# Liked: Balancing - bgfay...

Brian with more on 'enough' or, as he frames it, 'balance'. Reference this piece by Paul Jarvis.

Jarvis's concept of enough I call balance. I imagine that tightrope walkers don't remain long in balance as they cross the wire. Balance is something we return to. We fall out of balance, wave our arms madly, and hope to come back into balance before we fall, but we are always moving out of balance. We can also keep working to return to balance.

At any point what is required to achieve balance will differ, what is enough will vary, we just need to work to restore that balance, to reassess what enough means for us.

# I rejoined my own path to enough, a path I got lost from for a while. I discarded a rubbish sack's worth of clutter and unneeded things and that's just the start.

# It's not about simply getting rid of stuff; having stuff is not a problem, it's just got to be the right stuff.

I want to surround myself with things that have value - not monetary value but value for mind, for soul, for contenment.
