Tonight we went for our first meal out post lockdown - it was at the Tai Pan in Liverpool, our favourite Chinese restaurant anywhere, even better than those in London's Chinatown.

Things were well organised with tables well spaced, all the staff were wearing their PPE and regularly cleaning everything. They had one of those contactless forehead scanner thermometers which was used on entry and were diligently noting customer contact details for the 'track and trace' system.

I wasn't sure exactly how I'd feel about going out to eat: was it too soon, should we be doing it, would it be safe? But their organisation put us at ease and the food was as good as ever, if not better in some cases.
