There's one thing I have been missing with the iPhone X: Apple Pay.

"What are you talking about? Are you nuts?" I hear you cry.

Hear me out.

If you use the iOS data transfer option to set up your new phone it copies your Apple Pay details over and all you have to do is enter the CVV number from your card and you're good to go.

I did a completely fresh setup so had to re-add my card manually but my bank performs verification by way of a phone call. Because I still can't talk I'm not able to confirm my identity over the phone to reactivate the card for Apple Pay on this device, or the Watch for that matter.

Once you get used to using Apple Pay it feels so weird going back and having to always get your wallet out. I'd almost gotten to the point where I wouldn't even take my wallet with me, only carrying it as backup for the odd occasion when Apple Pay wouldn't go through.

Saying that, I'm glad I did a clean install as it made me really think about what apps I needed.

If you had an Apple Watch, you could have used it as a back up Apple Pay device until your voice returned. (Maybe it's another clever marketing ploy by the mother company! :-P)
