# Ann Althouse wrote that "part of blogging is choosing what not to blog" and, while she may have been referring to a particular case, it is an interesting point.

It's something I've been considering more lately myself.

It's important for those who can blog about mental health to do so, helping destigmatise the issues, but it can be a tough call to decide what should or shouldn't be shared. Where is the line over which you shouldn't step? Is there one? Probably. The complication is that it differs from person to person, from writer to reader, and even from time to time for the same person.

Ann writes about not giving things the viral oxygen to survive and propagate, however, similar considerations can be made to more personal matters.

This runs parallel to the recent thoughts about not needing to post every day and learning what you are by knowing what you are not.
