Winter appears intent on reminding us that it's not quite done, that it can still make its presence felt this far into Spring – both astronomical and meteorological. So, we hunker down, change our plans and adapt.

Austin Kleon wrote about "wintering", following on from discussion about a much linked to piece in the New York Times.

The past year has, in many respects, been like a long winter for the soul. We await a new Spring determined not by dates but by events. We have been in a type of hibernation, life almost on hold, as we protect ourselves and wait to bloom again. The hope is, however, that this enforced hibernation will lead to a new emergence where we do not simply return to the same old cycles of life as though nothing has happened.
