Each Saturday morning my wife and I have a breakfast date, just spending time together before the day starts in earnest. I get up and make it, bring it back to bed on trays and then we watch something on TV while we eat, usually something educational.

This morning it was an excellent program about the true origins of Stonehenge. It has long been known that the smaller bluestones originated in the Preseli Hills in Wales but the questioned remained why were they moved 150 miles east to Salisbury Plain. This program – Stonehenge: The Lost Circle Revealed – explained this and a whole lot more.

Truly fascinating!

You can get an overview of its main points from the BBC website.

@colinwalker what sort of size? If bigger than a sparrow I was wondering if it was a redwing?
